a taster or a gem?

‘Preservation and retention’ policies and ‘searching methods (metadata stuff)’ are discussed/mentioned in most ediscovery/disclosure articles/reports. Less talk about are the issues on ‘recovery of data’ or the challenges associated with the ‘indexing of data’  or ‘classification of data’ (for the metadata to make sense). Just some issues when dealing with data and information. Some people [...]

Zen and the art of edisclosure next?

Been pre-occupied with lots of non IT, non ediscovery/disclosure stuff lately In the midst (and aggro?!) of changing my broadband internet provider & coping (fiddly) with mobile internet. How about this for a refreshing read? Just one page on the Zen and the Art of Disaster Recovery. Compared this with an article (from technolawyer.com – [...]

discovery project manager

This week I saw a job title, ‘discovery project manager’, advertised in jobserve. I am indeed curious as I am an IT Project Manager/Consultant. Perhaps I will also add ‘ediscovery’ to my list of acquired ‘knowledge’. Over the next couple of weeks I will explore these two domains. Welcome suggestions/comments here or at yahoo groups.

In these sectors, computer technologies are deployed extensively and the nature of business transactions are not [...]

GUIDELINES FOR THE DISCOVERY OF ELECTRONIC DOCUMENTS IN ONTARIO

An extract from the pdf document; ‘Guidelines will provide an appropriate framework to address how to conduct e-discovery, based on norms that the bench and bar can adopt and develop over time as a matter of practice. They are not intended to be enforceable directly, as are the Rules of Civil Procedure, although they may [...]

Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Project

The EDRM Project was conceived well before the ediscovery/edisclosure rules. According to the information on the EDRM site ..Launched in May 2005, the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Project was created to address the lack of standards and guidelines in the electronic discovery market – a problem identified in the 2003 and 2004 Socha-Gelbmann Electronic [...]
